So, today I went out and got myself a new (well, actually, an old and used but cheap) guitar and what I'd love you, my fellow bloggers, to do is to tell me which songs I should learn to play. \m/
@Benjy: How would one go about playing that on a guitar? :D @I: That one I'll give a go. At first I didn't know what you were talking about, but then I youtubed it and saw that Clapton and Emmanuel played it. It's a good track.
Being a guitarist, I'd say learn how to read sheet music first. It'll help you A LOT if you're serious about playing guitar + most of them are easy songs such as Mary Had a Little Lamb which will at least get you started. Go for easy songs first, instead of killing yourself going for months trying to learn just one song. A lot of Green Day songs are pretty simple, such as Time of your Life or Minority.
@Fadeleaf: I might try that. @gimpel: Yup, already know that one. @Erixsson: I know that one already. @P. Davis: Ok. :D @Diego: Thanks! :) @Gryt: Oh, but I'm not a beginner. :D I just lack the inspiration, don't know what to play. :D
The first thing that came to my mind was something similar Jimi Hendrix's version of Hey Joe. Just because if I played guitar that's what I'd aspire to be able to play. Simple sounding song with plenty of work into it.
Awesome! If you've never played guitar before house of the rising sun is nice and easy or anything by oasis cos their songs are all like 3 chords and real simple.
Good luck and you should post a video when you learn a song!
I suggest learning "Dust in the wind" by Kansas (on classical guitar, but watch out- this tune it's quite exhausting to play), very nice hand and tempo (pulse) exercise and it is a nice and calm melody. Next one... I don't know. Some Gary Moore: "Empty Rooms", "Over the hills and far away". Cheers.
@Rich: You should, the girls love it. ;) @Calamari: Oh, I've been playing for some time now; not a complete beginner. But both. :D @Copy: Already know that one.
@Mekkor: I'm somewhere in between. And we're talking acoustic here so tapping is out of the question. :D @Erika: You know, I might try some kind of a wicked cover of it.
Hello my friend! I have been visiting your blog. Cool! Seriously, I thoroughly enjoyed your blog . Congratulations for your work. I invite you to visit my blog at: http://nelsonsouzza.blogspot.com Thanks for sharing!
Try to learn that Blue Oyster Cult song so you have an excuse to bring someone in with a cowbell and yell out "we need more cowbell" (sorry for the bad misquote, I haven't seen that skit in so long).
I'm sorry I have no true suggestions. My iphone is filled with classical/minimalist/ambient music. Nothing too fun for guitarists.
Try learning fireflies by owl city :)
