Try learning fireflies by owl city :)
@Benjy: How would one go about playing that on a guitar? :D@I: That one I'll give a go. At first I didn't know what you were talking about, but then I youtubed it and saw that Clapton and Emmanuel played it. It's a good track.
not a guitarist myself, but i've heard that Snow (Hey Oh) by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is a fun one to play, you should try it!
can you do hotel california?
Wonderwall, everyone knows that song, all can sing along :))
I have no idea, really, whatever you like!
whoa! you have some mindblowing stuff in here, as always! good job!
Being a guitarist, I'd say learn how to read sheet music first. It'll help you A LOT if you're serious about playing guitar + most of them are easy songs such as Mary Had a Little Lamb which will at least get you started. Go for easy songs first, instead of killing yourself going for months trying to learn just one song. A lot of Green Day songs are pretty simple, such as Time of your Life or Minority.
@Fadeleaf: I might try that.@gimpel: Yup, already know that one.@Erixsson: I know that one already.@P. Davis: Ok. :D@Diego: Thanks! :)@Gryt: Oh, but I'm not a beginner. :D I just lack the inspiration, don't know what to play. :D
Nirvana - Come as you are - the first guitar song I ever learned to play, and you can tune your guitar by it.
Not a bad idea. I'll also do The man who sold the world. :)
The first thing that came to my mind was something similar Jimi Hendrix's version of Hey Joe. Just because if I played guitar that's what I'd aspire to be able to play. Simple sounding song with plenty of work into it.
Awesome! If you've never played guitar before house of the rising sun is nice and easy or anything by oasis cos their songs are all like 3 chords and real simple.Good luck and you should post a video when you learn a song!
@D4: Already know Hey, Joe. But Little wing would do! :)@h: Oh no. I play for a long long time but I do suck. :D
I think learning chords first is the best idea... or Freebird. :P
Freebird is a swell idea!
the FLCL main intro! ;D
one by metallica and stairway to heaven
Puff the magic dragon and smoke on the water are must-knows!!! Good luck sir
@BC: FLCL?@Bart: Stairway to heaven I already know. But One is now on my to do list.@Avery: Everybody knows Smoke on the water! ;D
How about the spiderman theme song?
Enter Sandman-MetallicaLong to learn but well worth it.
@Shutterbug: Spiderpig more like it! :D@Forty: Not bad!
I suggest learning "Dust in the wind" by Kansas (on classical guitar, but watch out- this tune it's quite exhausting to play), very nice hand and tempo (pulse) exercise and it is a nice and calm melody. Next one... I don't know. Some Gary Moore: "Empty Rooms", "Over the hills and far away". Cheers.
Never heard of those, gonna youtube 'em right now.
I would say any avenged sevenfold song "]
Voodoo child :D
canon rock rule my world, you should try it completely
@Devour, GMSP, Batow: Will try all of them; really good suggestions! :)
I want to buy one guitar, too.
Good stuff, hope you keep at it. Are you learning rhythm or lead?
@Rich: You should, the girls love it. ;)@Calamari: Oh, I've been playing for some time now; not a complete beginner. But both. :D@Copy: Already know that one.
@O: A good one. :)
if you are a skilled guitarplayer: some speedmetal would be a challengeif you are a beginner: try "smoke on the water" :D
woohoo! that is awesome. I think twinkle twinkle little star is always good when you first learn how to play guitar.
@Mekkor: I'm somewhere in between. And we're talking acoustic here so tapping is out of the question. :D@Erika: You know, I might try some kind of a wicked cover of it.
You should try learning the song you like.
I'm lacking the inspiration, mate.
anything by the mentors, murder junkies, or memphis goons.
Never heard of those; I'm gonna youtube 'em. :)
That's, obviously, a very popular tune. :D

Haha, nice man, just post some song of the above you can do on ur blog.
"Hey soul sister", it's always so great :)
Aim for the stars, learn dragonforce!
Haha, you should start of by trying Smoke on the Water from Deep Purple, but as I read here, you're not an utter starter :). Try Jose Gonzalez' Heartbeats, it's a great tune:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_4abCWw-w
Try to learn that Blue Oyster Cult song so you have an excuse to bring someone in with a cowbell and yell out "we need more cowbell" (sorry for the bad misquote, I haven't seen that skit in so long).I'm sorry I have no true suggestions. My iphone is filled with classical/minimalist/ambient music. Nothing too fun for guitarists.
Dude, if you do "Baby I Love Your Way" by Peter Frampton, I will LOVE you.
