No, this is not a one-liner. That being said, don't worry; I'll keep it short.
Found a flat. A good one, I believe.
The neighbourhood looks decent enough (I have yet to see but one crackhead roaming around) and it's relatively close to my college (my guess is twentyish minutes to half an hour via public transportation and dependant of traffic).
The apartment itself is neither small, neither large. Actually, for a bachelor pad, it is kinda big. But I don't mind.
And the owners seem like a really good folk. They're young, funny and they do seem fair. But time will tell on that one; I'm really gullible when it comes to people and their intentions.
The price... Well, it's in my price range. The midlle to high end of it. But it's actually a good price; between me and you, they could have gotten more dough for that place. Again, I'm perfectly happy with that.
But, don't worry; I'll find something wrong with this place soon enough.

EDIT:
In the light of certain comments made in this post by the author himself, I would like to state that I did not dress into or, by any means, try to impersonate a woman as a means of getting the apartment. I could never pull it off with my legs.
Best of luck with the move!
ReplyDeleteAnd when you find something wrong I hope you post it in one sentence.
ReplyDeleteBe careful with that public transportation and the BUMS that ride it!!!

ReplyDeletethis reminds me about a home that had nice new homeowner/renting folk. they were great but when we went to move out they didn't show up together to inspect and at the end there was this akward time when the husband suggested i take some of the deposit.... I was like "I'll wait till your wife sees it" and he insisted. the 1200 dollar deposit, I only got 400 because she flipped that the carpet took so much use/wear... What a nice guy knew his wife was gonna try and keep all that money lol
ReplyDeleteI usually don't get any deposit back. That being said, no, I don't wreck the place, but people simply don't want to give it back. :S
ReplyDeleteHeh well there goes neighborhood, all you neighbors property values just crashed lulz.
ReplyDeletemoving can be tough, but exciting!

ReplyDeletecongrats on the new pad, I do believe a housewarming party is now required.
ReplyDeleteFinding something wrong with a place is easy. That you haven't yet is good.
ReplyDeleteHope it all works out for you, moving can be rough. Change is positive if you embrace it enough.
ReplyDeletei thought women with thick legs are generally revered in other countries?
ReplyDeleteYou didn't crossdress and still got the apartment? 8D
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, good for you! Sounds pretty nice, from what you wrote.
Yay! Good for you! :) Post pics some time, okay?
ReplyDeleteGood to know that you weren't dressed as a woman when you were scoping for possible crackheads. All joking aside, congrats.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the owner wants you because he's gay???
ReplyDeletejust kidding.
congrats
ReplyDeleteWell it seems that one sentence is actually not all you need :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for the move. Good luck.

@SPD, Fang, TGSG, TLMT: Thanks! :)
@jonwinters: How about really hairy ones? :D
@forkfantasy: I'm actually thinking of starting a blog about my little pad. Where followers would help me decide how to decorate it, etc.
@Tsipise: Oh. O_o'
@Murray: Just this once. :D
Good news on the flat - and hope the neighbourhood turns out ok
ReplyDeleteYou should post some pics of it
I'm contemplating it. :D
ReplyDeleteWhats wrong with yer legs?
ReplyDeleteToo hairy, I guess. :D
ReplyDeleteWell, you could have shaved ^^
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting the apartment, it's a pain in the arse finding one.
ReplyDelete@Bdgorsh: :P
ReplyDelete@jgsmyth: It is. But I do believe my search is over. :)
I'm about to hit the market for a place to lease from May 2011 to May 2012 for my final year of school. Where I am right now is a decent enough place, but I have 5 room mates and I'm looking to live alone or with the girlfriend. I'm glad you've found some success with your search! Congrats.
ReplyDeleteGood luck mate. :)

I find that the crackheads give my neighborhood character.
ReplyDelete@davesmithhayes: It's hard to live with roommates, I know. But don't go to your gf. Rather rent the flat for yourself.
ReplyDelete@koalor: Thanks! :)
@Miss Dro: Soon enough! :D
@Banacek: :D
ReplyDeletecongratulations on the freedom of a bachelor pad :) remember to stay on track!
ReplyDeletecongrats, and good luck on getting the new place!
ReplyDeleteYou really have an interesting idea for a blog, almost a minimalist way of blogging, really cool, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteDude don't worry, I have the legs of a yeti, I wouldn't be able to pull off the female look either.
ReplyDeleteher name is Gisele
ReplyDelete@Nemesis, D: Thank you! :)
ReplyDelete@Alphalpha: You're spot on; that was kinda the initial intention! :)
@Andre3000: Got the apartment anyhow! :)
@Bart: Well, I figured that out myself, but Gisele what? :D
Good luck with the new place!
ReplyDeleteOnly one crackhead? Hopefully, he doesn't spread his habits.
Dude, it's a great time from your new flat to your college. I had to travel more than an hour when I was studying at the university.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know the feeling. This is the first flat I live in that is near my college. The last one wasn't even in the same city. And most of my flats were more than an hour away from my college. :S
ReplyDeletelol nice edit
ReplyDeletea little longer than usual but still a good read. keep up
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new apartment. Following
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the apartment. I'm moving into a new place today, myself.

Yay - you got a flat!
ReplyDeleteJust secured a house with my 3 house mates myself! Good to get in early rather then leaving it too late and getting the leftovers from everyone else :P
ReplyDeleteIf only I was lucky enough to get an apartment, but I'll be stuck in these dorms for a while :P
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept for a blog, will be following.
cool, grats on the place.
ReplyDeleteIf it's any comfort, I can't pull an impersonation of a woman with just my legs alone either.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, congrats on the flat!
"A nice, upscale neighborhood. These people look respectable enough!"
ReplyDelete"Hey.. do you smell meth?"
"Oh hell..."
Gratz on the new place though! I just recently moved into a pretty spiffy townhome myself. It's nice to be out though. Even if it has left me broke. <_<
congrats on getting a nice apartment in a what sounds to be decent neighborhood.

ReplyDelete@tyrone: Thanks! :)

Congrats! Following your blog :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to move out myself in a few years, sadly its all comes down to money, or lack of I should say!
Ah well, someday!
Congrats on finding an apartment! Hope it works out man!
ReplyDeleteMoney is a bit of a problem on my end too. That is why you should take your time when renting the flat. Find the underpriced one. My rent for this place is around 250 bucks. Which is not much. And the owners could have gotten 400 to 500 easily. Just start your search early enough!
ReplyDelete@KB: Thanks, mate! :)
ReplyDeleteGrats on finding a place.
ReplyDeletelol loved that last bit
ReplyDeletecongrats on the move
For some reason your edit made me think you had penises on your legs and WHY DID I THINK THAT? I DON'T KNOW.

ReplyDeleteFollowed!
Congrats.
ReplyDeleteThe advice I gave before was for use with companies/leasing offices, not with honest people renting out their own property. Glad you found some of them (:
Hopefully you find a place soon!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finding a place! Hopefully whatever you find wrong with it wont be too terribly wrong. :)
